9205 Table Lamp, Canvas - GUBI

GUBI’s Tynell 9205 table lamp beautifully reflects the style of lighting designer Paavo Tynell, showcasing his love for natural materials and impeccable craftsmanship, all while maintaining an understated charm. The 9205 table lamp harmoniously combines a hand-pleated bamboo slat shade with a slender brass stem adorned with a hand-lathed pattern reminiscent of a rattan weave. The lamp’s gently diffused, warm light and timeless proportions exude a captivating presence, making it a perfect addition to various spaces, such as the living room side table, window sill or bedside.

Similar to other Tynell designs, the 9205 Table Lamp is available with two shade options: the slightly smaller bamboo version, or the classic choice of canvas shade, which comes attached to a liner and manually fixed onto a wire frame.

Originally designed in the early 1950s and produced by the Finnish company Oy Taito Ab, the 9205 luminaire is now part of the Paavo Tynell collection under the Danish design brand GUBI.

Designer Bio: Paavo Tynell 

Paavo Tynell (1890-1973) was an industrial designer, known as the great pioneer of Finnish lighting design and fondly dubbed as “the man who illuminated Finland”. Throughout 2023, GUBI explores and celebrates the legacy of Paavo Tynell with the launch of seven masterpieces.
